Sunset Beach Walking Historic Tour
Sunset Beach was an unincorporated small town established in 1904 and developed in 1920 for the oil fields. This small sleepy town has a rich history including a lookout house that is still there used in WWII by the Coast Guard, history in Rum Running, and a Duck Club just for starters. Sunset Beach was annexed by Huntington Beach in 2011. It remains a nice little town with some of it’s rich history still intact peppered with 1920’s cottages, motel, and bars. You can pick up a historic walking tour brochure at Visit Huntington Beach location. It is definitely worth your time!
